Bad Turbo Seal - Oil Into Exhaust Man. Possible
Seems that I've read about a bad turbo seal allowing oil to enter the intake manifold and therefore can causae significant oil consumption, but is it possible for the oil leak to end up in the exhaust manifold and get blowin into the exhause system? How likely might this be and would it cause grey smoke. Just wondering?

On the turbine side an oil leak will blow out the exhaust pipe. There's no path for oil back to the exhaust manifold. Maybe salmon oil flows upstream
There's also bad intake valve guides and seals that allow oil into the combustion chambers and bad exhaust valve guides and seals that allow oil into the exhaust manifold. The easiest to check is the compressor side. After that, not so easy. Sixto 93 300SD |
