Amsoil is great but I had to jump through hoops just to get 1 filter from them.

The question is partly opinion and partly fact.
You've posted two oils that are Group IV synthetics (Mobil-1 and Amsoil) and one oil that's a Group III synthetic (Shell). So, clearly, the Group IV synthetics are "better" oils. Whether they will provide greater longevity for your engine if you change the oil every 5K is a completely different discussion. There is nobody on this forum, AFAIK, that has specific knowledge of the differences between Amsoil and M-1 and can make an educated judgment between them. The only factor that may weigh in Mobil's favor is the API certification. BTW, because of the format of the question, I was unable to vote in your poll because the differences between M-1 and Amsoil are not immediately obvious to me. |

Brian.......for the same reason as you not being able to vote...I went ahead and voted "None of the above".....
Really....for most peoples use....any oil changed regularly is enough....IMHO....but that and $4.50 will get you a good latte....
