Chasing Massive Vac Leak
Struggling with a massive vacuum leak.
I believe it's somewhere in the climate control or locking system, and I'm looking for hints to isolate those circuits individually. I've checked vac diagrams. They show very detailed setups of the underhood components, but show only a vague line going "to other vacuum consumers". I've checked ACC and locking diagrams, but instead of referring to color coding, they simply say "ACC suction line" or "fresh air supply line". Here's what I have entering the passenger compartment. 1) Black vent line 2) Brown/blue stripe to shutoff 3) two yellows which meet in a 3 way check valve (locks?) 4) plain brown 5) green/yellow stripe Can anyone help me identify the functions of 3 thru 5, and offer suggestions for isolating indiviually the ACC and locking circuits? Thanks, |
3. solid yellow line goes directly to the reservior. Yellow w/ red stripe goes to the locking mechanism at the drivers door.
4. plain brown goes to the shutoff mechanism at the start switch, the other end is the brown w/ blue stripe that is attached to the shutoff valve to the IP 5. green w/ yellow stripe is for the ac switchover valves located behind the acc controls. It supplies vacuum to 5 s/o valves. I would check the vacuum pods first if they hold vacuum. I havent worked on the locking mechanism on my car yet. |
I think you have the lock and reservoir lines backwards. On mine they are:
Solid yellow = master lock switch. yellow with black/brown/red stripe = vacuum reservoir |
