upgraded 79 Glow plugs wrong voltage?

I pulled the large body pencil plugs that were bad in my 79 TD and went a searching the parts stores for a cross reference... no luck, I am going to have to order them online somewhere... (anybody got a source? Good prices please....)
anyway, The plug is stamped with four sets of numbers the long one... two short ones, and one that is stamped 9V... I thought how odd for a GP in a 12 v system to have that stamping. I checked the bosch plugs in my 82 SD and they were stamped 11v I guessed that the SD plugs were designed for a 5 or 6 cyl motor so 11v would be about what the plugs get with 5 plugs running. but 9??? perhaps it is for a v12? perhaps it is the wrong voltage plug? perhaps the 9V and 11V are more part numbers... I don't know. the parts guys did not know (Napa, advanced and the zone) Does anybody here know?
HELP! I can't drive my Diesel and I am going into withdrawal now...
John

There where conversion plugs to replace the larger series plugs I think you are describing. The real clue here is if there are squiggly bare wires between the plugs or not. If just straight wires with insulation you probably have a car with the original series low voltage !-2 volt plugs removed and replaced already. These versions in 11 volts or around there for example might be hard to find. Or at least harder in general than the originals. I guess you are just going to have to establish for sure if you have series wired plugs or parellel wired plugs. You might give Phil a call for help. Or just take a meter and read the voltage to ground on each the plugs with the glow system on. If each of the plugs are reading say 9-11 volts then you know you need parellel plugs. From what you are also reading off the plugs it does appear they are higher voltage conversion plugs as well. Those listed voltages are not part numbers.

As far as I know, the large, new style, GPs are all the same, voltage wise.

Yeah, I know the dif between loop and pencil, the car got converted using used (I know, big no no...) pencil type parallel wired plugs. the auto parts house lists only the loops, and has no way to cross reference the large body pencil type.

I am just wondering from those of you using the parallel large body plugs, do yours have 9V stamped on them or 11?
also what would the part # be for the 11V plugs and where should I get them, I found a source of a large body plug, at mbsource... 17.00 each plus shipping, anybody got a better source?
thanks,
John

John... Like I said, I believe ..."they are all the same, voltage wise' regardless of what number is stamped on them,
