84 300D Fuel Leak

I noticed that when I fill up (full tank), I get a fuel leak at the front of the car. The leak goes away as I get to 3/4 full and lower. I haven't investigated it closely yet but judging from the spot on my garage floor, it appears to be just below the fan area and a bit to the right of center. This puzzles me as I thought everything related to fuel is to the left of the engine (fuel filters, lines, etc). Could be traveling? Any thoughts.

I plan to look closer tonight. I just got this car last month (240k). Per PO, it sat for 2 years. Maybe lines cracked?

Finally got around to chkg and it looks like the same area that leaked in my 85 - the hoses going to and from the in-line fuel flter. Will have to do a fuel line change-a-roonie now. Not my favorite work - messy.

Done

Just got done replacing the fuel lines of the in line filter. Used hemostat which made things much less messy. Looks like everythings dry so far. I'll conclude thats where it was leaking because the braded lines were pretty wet when I got to them.

Also replaced the filter while I was at it.
