99 E300turbodiesel IP
Anyone have an exploded view of the injection pump showing seals, moving parts, etc. for a 99E300turbo-d? I might have to dive into it to replace the seals and it is allways nice to review a diagram before getting into somethig.

Steve:
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb1.asp?TP=1&F=210025&M=606%2E962&GA=722%2E608&CT=M&Cat=19T&SID=07 I know BOSCH offers "service kits" for their pumps. I've seen them for VE37 pumps....there are many seals and I suspect they include every concievable seal/gasket/o-ring. Don't know if they're available for the inline pumps.

Do you have a leak in particular? I've just repaired a leak on the shutoff valve, thanks to some very good help from this forum and others.

I have a bad idle problem which came after replacing the o rings on the IP.
A shop in Denver has seen this problem and has indicated that an incorrect placement of one or more componenets in the reassembly procedure results in the IP being unable to attain proper pressure at idle. My car has been in four shops that claim to work on these cars with no good result. So.. if I can get the diagram and the Mercedes procedure and the parts, I may try it myself. Part of the aggravation is the lack of repairability of these newer cars. Not the Tech's fault. It is Mercedes fault. I've seen two other cars and there is at least one other member of this forum that have the same problem. One of the owners took his car to the dealer in Texas and received a new ECU (Stu Ritter's fix), a new electronic connector at the transmission and a new harness for $3900.00 and it still ran the same! Others have replaced k-40 relays, injectors and other components in the hope of landing on the right spot. I'm beginning to think that the only way to get rid of this problem is to sell the car for scrap and drive home in a new Jeep. Well, maybe some non -Chrysler product. It isn't the end of the world, but I surley can't sell this car for what its worth with a rough idle. At $13-$15k max value one has to be realistic as to whether it is worth spending more time and money on something that is essentially un-fixable. Take the three thousand or so, scrap the car, get a 4-Runner and forget about Dr.Z and his ..... Didn't mean to start a rant, but given my experience with the W210 and the recent articles listing MB in the bottom of the barrel in Quality, I'm not spending more money on their stuff. Steve |

A few questions:
1. What exactly is wrong with your idle? 2. Which o-rings did you replace, and how long ago? 3. Can you see any leaks on the IP? 4. Have you ruled out other possibilites, eg coated injectors, prechamber problems, poor fuel? (i suspect half a tank of ULSD after using B100 caused the loss of my shutoff soleniod o-ring) Also, I find that the W210 is indeed very reparable (although a decent set of manuals or MB WIS certainly doesn't hurt, in fact all the diagrams shown above are in WIS)....yes, parts and labor are expensive but don't you find these cars extremely rewarding? An E300 (albeit when properly running) does provide a mighty fine Italian tune-up.......

Have you tried cleaning out the EGR system on your car? I have just done mine and it has made a huge difference to the idle of the car in the morning, when the engine is cold. The valve was so utterly filthy it was sticking, and the engine grumbled like hell because of it.

If you're talking about the delivery valve seals, you won't find them for this year and model. I had to order them for an 87 300D, but fortunately they are the same size.
