turbo issues???
just replaced fuel filters and all is well on the road to recovery...i hear a whistling sound upon acceleration now that someone told me was a sign of a bad turbo bearing??
803.00 for a rebuilt turbo what do i do?? |
That is also the sign of
the turbo spooling up. Take off the intake ducts and check the freeplay (lateral and radial) at the compressor wheel nut. No play = good.

MAke sure the engine is turned off when you test the turbo. It spins even when the engine is at idle. The fins make really good slicers when in motion.

YES! good point.

That would ruin your day. |
Yes, but it would make a great "Here's your sign!" moment. :D

You probably just have a leak somewhere in the exhaust system... normally you shouldn't hear it spool up (which is probably what the noise is). Does it not have power? Is it burning oil?

not MB related, but my friend has a Garrett 60 trim on his car. I can hear him coming down the road. Has a really cool "wshhhhh" sound. |
