Bought new Bozio nozzles, from Diesel Giant have one word on that WOW WOW WOW quiet quiet, idle back to normal which it hasnt been for while:D :D :D

Don't.
If the engine is at operating temperature the water will boil/bubble even with no leaks.

It would seem to me that if you had any leak around the base of the injector there would be some sign of it, some black grimy leakage, especially if there was enough to cause a problem with the engine's running or performance...has anyone tried this tip and detected a leak this way?

In my case there was no way to tell without some sort of liquid around the injector. The water shouldn't boil even if the engine is at operating temp which should be slightly above 80C, nowhere near the boiling point of water. But I would try it with the engine a bit cooler as you don't want to crack something. By the way my knock is now completely gone it idle when the engine is warmed up. Only at elevated idle (around 1000 RPM) it's not as quiet, but nothing out of the ordinary. As I have mentioned elsewhere, sometimes all you need is to load up on an injector cleaner and cetane boost and just drive the car, but be patient.

What I used was soapy water, just a little just like looking for tire air leak doesnt take much at all, when I verified no leak shop vac. thru straw worked like charm:D what I find amazing thru my whole ordeal with the nailing at idle is not one of the two bosch shop said i had bad injector or injectors thay both said injectors fine, well let me say thanks to diesel giant and bozio nozzles changed my self what a diff back to purring like kitten and quiet:D by the way guys changing nozzles was a breeze! glad I didnt ,but almost did by new injectors from steeler here in canada EACH ONE FOR 98/99 YR IS $450 X6=2700 WOW:eek:

What did the Bozio nozzels set you back? I've got some nailing at idle that is annoying me as well. First start when cold it is fine, then couple minutes later.. noisy. Glad this worked for you.
