Some kind of fluid out of the tailpipe?

My wife just informed me that is something leaking out of the tailpipe. We just started running 100% biodiesel. Could there be a relationship? Or what else might it be since we have never had issues with biodiesel???

Well' first of all, I'm at work for the weekend and she is describing this over the phone. NOW she says that it is not coming from the tailpipe, but from a soft hose up and to the LEFT of the tailpipe and muffler. She says its oilly and smells like paint. I don't know. Could it be the spare tire well leaking something? It's a wagon. Is there some kind of drain hose in that area? Thanks...

In the TD, the fuel expansion tank is there. Oily and paint smelling could be diesel.

What is the fuel expansion tank. I filled her up this morning with homebrew biodiesel and it was really topped off. No shut off nozzle! Could it be that it was overfilled and the extra ran into the fuel expansion tank? And if so, how to I get the fuel out of it?

It's behind the spare tire. There is no way to get anything out of it, it's sealed with the tank. The rubber tubes may have been softened/eaten away by your fuel.

yup, its the expansion tank. Pull the spare tire and look for a leak. Early TD's have metal tanks, later ones are plastic and can crack. I would just run the car to reduce fuel level and see if it goes away.

So over filling the tank could cause the leak? Is there an overflow tube or it would only leak if the tank is cracked or fuel lines are leaking? I did over fill this morning...

No. Biodiesel is a strong solvent, diesel is an oil. BD will eat away at old rubber tubes.
