Delivery valve question

OK, I corrected the runaway Rpm's. The idle control actuator was sticking.

I lost pressure on the number four injector. I removed the delivery riser for number four, checked and cleaned the parts, replaced the crush washer, o-ring and stage torqued it to specs. It was good for a few and dropped out again. Any ideas on why it is doing this?

Thanks,
WG

Hmmmmm.....

G'mornin',

Have you done "the Purge" yet?? If not, try cleaning that delivery valve again, assure that the valve is not binding in the plate....anneal or replace copper ring....reassemble and run a can of Diesel Purge thru your car.....

My tought is that you may have a bit of trash/varnish/sediment in your fuel system.....and it has moved back into that valve again.....

OR.....try running the engine again when cool, if it works and then.....if the delivery valve is siezing up when warm/hot......get a new one, and install....

Alright, I did what you said and it is working now. Went for a spin and purred like a kitten. When I got to the house the number four injector was delivering way too much fuel and was smoking and chugging at idle. Im willing to bet some trash moved into the injector. When I cracked the line fuel squirted out and the idle returned to normal until I retightened it. What does a good test and flow matching of the injectors run?

Thanks again,
WG
