What should i buy
OK folks, winter is right arond the corner and as most of you know ive been looking for a winter driver b/c i dont want my rust free 240 to see the road salt. i have narrowed my choices and was wondering what everyone thinks i should purchase as my winter beater. the choices are as follows
1. 1984 190E with around 160k (odometer is broken so milage is unknown)it has a cold start problem which it runs like crap, but after 2 minutes it runs fine its a 5 speed manual. body is ok. it has a mis matched front fender and the right front light door cover is different. but for the price and what it will be used for, im not to worried about it. also brakes have little power assist, which i asssume is somthing with the vacum lines. or worst case senario would be a brake booster. 2. 1979 300CD around 265K. a little rusty around the wheel wells. no known issues with that, but the car is in MD, which means i would fly there and drive it 700 miles back home. 3. 1982 300SD with 232K. the guy thats selling it is a forum member and im sure u have seen the pics. little rust, intercooled, paint is blotchy on the top from oxidation. so let me know what everyone thinks. either way, it will be driven in snow and be my winter get around. thanks for the input.

drive the Sd. he only wants $975 for it...cheap, and it seems to be in good condition.

because what ever i buy, i want to be able to sell it in the spring when all the snows gone. either that or sell my 240 and keep the other car. depeneds on the car i buy. but one will have to be sold in the spring

I'd buy that intercooled rig...especially if it is less than $1000.
