Check that the four way switch is working properly. If it doesn't return right to its "OFF" position, The turn signals won't work. Essentially the switch(4 way), cancells the turn switch.
Most important is to let us know what you find. Chris

Sometimes Coffee/Soda/whoknowswhat gets spilled on those red switches - you may need to give it a good cleaning, instead of a few clicks. - Don't be too rough on the switch, the older ones can be a little fragile.

I was going to get my inpection sticker and had an issue from the hazard switch ,with enough patients I found the fix.The following is how i did it.Take out your ashtray then get to the 2 philips head screws that hold in the center tray wood trim ,work out the wood trim that holds all the swithes and unplug ,carefully, each one ,get at the hazard switch connection and undue the plastic holds on the switch ,MAKE SURE YOU MARK AND TAPE EACH WIRE TO ITS SPOT OR YOULL LOSE YOUR PLACE WHEN THE PIECE COMES APART,ITS 7 CONNECTIONS ,MALE AND FEMALE.With a set of small needel nose pliers carefully put pressure on the female end of each contact to take up the slack that is their.Over time these contacts get lose and you end up with what you thought was a fuse problem is just a simple contact problem. If I remember right it also was affecting my turn signals on my 84 300dt.To blame was many spills of various drinks and someone opening up the console and tugging on the wires on various occasions.
