Y'all,
Here are two places I've gotten the Hella lights from before: http://www.classicgarage.com/ and http://www.rallylights.com/. I've had great success with headlight protection film, and the best I've used is from http://www.xpel.com/. I had used Lamin-X, but the film got a funky purple-brown discoloration over the bulb area. The Lamin-X did, however, keep a Hella on my E28 535i from completely shattering -- I was able to go for nearly a year with a slowly-progressing crack across the lens. Otherwise, the large rock that hit it would have done a number on the lens. The Lamin-X is thinner and a bit easier to conform to curves, but the X-Pel goes on fine on Hellas, which are pretty flat anyhow. I only cover the mostly-flat area about 3/16" in from the trim ring. -Shawn |

I installed my Bosch H4 Headlight Upgrade Kit about 6 months ago - definately worth the money in my book.
