617- 123 Front springs, LCA Bushings

How many coils of the spring need be between the plates when using a Klann or Klann after market spring compressor?

Is it possible to change the LCA bushings in place after the spring is removed?

If the vehicle is supported on jack stands and the shocks are removed, the coils are fairly well unloaded. So, five coils will typically do the job. If you can get more than five, you'll have an easier task. Usually you can insert the plates and wind them up or down the coils for extra distance.

I'm fairly sure you'll need to remove the LCA and press the bushings out of the LCA using an arbor press. Doing this in place doesn't sound like something that's going to work for you.

I changed my LCA bushings on the car. Much easier than removing the ball joints. I had to get a very large stout C clamp to install the new bushings.
