brake sensor on 300SDL
Thanks to this great site, today I put new brake pads on my '87 SDL.For me this was a mechanical marvel...with the info from here, though,it was as "easy" as this site said! Anyway, one problem...on the right front, there was no place to plug in the sensors,as there was on the left! Am I missing something? Does this matter? Should I just wait for the squeals to indicate time for new pads?? Thanks for any help!

The previous owner must have removed the wire harness for the sensor.
The SDL should come with harnesses for both front wheels. The sensor is a ground wire. So when the plastic covering the wire is ground away by the pad. The light in the dash illuminates. If the wire was giving the previous owner a problem ( shorting out) they or the mechanic may have just removed it. Get a new harness from the dealer or Phil and install it. Then install the 2 sensors to the pads. You could do without them but if a caliper piston sticks and wears down the pad, You could ruin the rotors. Now it's getting more expensive. Dave
