190E manual transmission
Ive read that the 190E manual transmissions would bolt up to 603's and ive found a 190E 2.3 with a 5-speed short shifter. Which ive also taken a Remus muffler off of:D
Anyway, i want to know if it will bolt up to my 603, the junkyard only wants $100 for the trans. I assume ill have to take the third pedal and all the other connections to it. |
I know the tranny will bolt up, I don't know if the pedal or shifter will bolt in.

Whoever owned this 190E did some mods from what i see, has AMG pedals, H&R springs..etc. |
What is this short throw shifter you speak of? Where can I get one?
Thanks, John |

Maybe someone else can go into more detail this is just what i was told by my dad. |
On these, I believe you either lengthen the shifter levers on the body or shorten the levers on the tranny.
|
it would be longer arms under the floor.
the pedal cluster and shifter should bolt in. imho. i have not done one but would be just astonished if this turned out to not be correct. the rods from the shifter to the tranny might be different lengths and you might have to shorten or lengthen the drive shaft as well. small price to pay to get a stick tranny. tom w |

sorry i didnt read closely enough before. tom w |
BTW, if anyone's interested, I know where there's a 190e in Modesto with a manual tranny that's going for $400. New clutch even...would make a great donor car.
PM me if interested, or check out the classifieds on 190revolution.net. |
I assume that its all coming from and going into a W201 (190) chassis. If so, its a bolt in with the correct parts. I did this with a W124 (300E). Its all intelligent grunt work: no welding, no fabrication. Do a search of this site, its there. Get ALL the parts from the donor, otherwise it will get expensive if you have to buy even some of the bits.
