1987 300d electrial
I have a 1987 300D. The problem I am having is that I am getting a feedback of current thru the wires to the #9 fuse. It is causing the radio and auto antena to draw current and run my battery down. Was wondering what controls the time delay when the car is turned off. That maybe this is not breaking the circuit and causing the problem. Would appreciate any advice.

300d electrical
Have narrowed down my problems. Think it is the ignition switch. Can anyone tell me if I can replace the electrical part of the switch without pulling the hole switch. The key part of the switch is working fine.

I'm pretty sure you must pull the ignition tumbler in order to access the electrical ignition switch.

Max is correct—the electrical switch is attached to the lock tumbler and comes out as a unit, then the switch can be replaced. There are numerous threads on this forum on the procedures including warnings of significant "gotcha" events that one must avoid when R&Ring the tumbler/switch assembly.
