Real quick stupid question that i should know
OK, so im doing a valve adjustment on my 617 turbo and was wondering if its the same as doing it on a 616 or 617, just wondering since its a turbo if it makes a differenece. would the order still be e,i,i,e,e,i,i etc...?
i know its a dumb question but i just wanta make sure i dont mess it up.

Its exactly the same as the non-turbo 617. The only differences on the turbo engine are the presence of the turbo.... ....oil jets for the pistons....and a hardened crankshaft to withstand the extra force. The heads are the same.

The valves are different IIRC. I think the intakes are sodium filled. Position of intake and exhaust with in the head is the same though.

You can tell by looking which is exhaust and which it intake. The intake valve has a manifold that connects to the air filter housing, while the exhaust valves have a manifold that drops down to connect to the exahust pipes. I wasn't sure which order they would be on my 240D when I adjusted them, but it was easy to figure out. Just double check and write it down.

If I recall correctly, isn't there a difference in the clearance of the exhaust valves between turbo and NA?
The Haynes manual shows 0.30 for non-turbo and 0.35 for turbo.
