Thats pretty good, since I can't get it local anymore I'll have to pay to ship it. Or cheap out and just run Mobil 1 0w40 which every autoparts store in my are seems to carry.

I paid $134 for four 1 gallon jugs in a case from an oil distribution center near my house...:o Thats 16 quarts...which would be $112 + shipping on amazon...minus the $20 promo....so it'd actually not be much less. I may order a couple bottles from amazon though, so I have "extra" oil. I need about a qt per 4000 miles to make up for blowby/dripping losses..and I have very little left of the 2 gallons after an oil change. Oh well. Or I could whine at autozone and see if they can order in the 1 qt bottles of the stuff....they also only have the 0w40....we have that in the '83...seems to run fine....but I want the best. :D

Just F.Y.I..... Amsoil makes a 5w-40 full synthetic. A friend of mine put it in his 2002 Dodge CUMMINS powered and loves it! He went on a trip to Texas and back and averaged 20mpg on a 3/4 ton 4X4 with an automatic at 70-75mph.

also, if there is a NAPA or Advance autoparts, they will order it for you. My local Advance even is stocking cases of it for my fleet...it took forever for me to get them to find it in their inventory, but they do have it in the system. tell them to look it up in oil by manufacturer, that's how I got them to find it for me.

The discount applies to products sold by Amazon ONLY! The oil is sold by Auto Barn. No discount.

Try O'Reillys

Just picked up 8 quarts this past Saturday at O'Reillys Auto Parts in Statesville NC, $5.99/quart, they had plenty in stock.

Oh...hmm, oh well...I'll just keep getting it locally.

I've been getting 24.8mpg going 80+ consistantly...probably about 2.5mpg's higher for that speed than I ever got on Rotella dino, plus, the engine is a lot smoother and quieter at that speed.

Sounds crazy, but see what your dealer stocks and what he will sell it to ya for. You may be surprised.

Geez if I gotta order it I may as well go Amsoil
Exxon/Mobil are so annoying

SootyPast 11-29-2006 11:29 AM

Footnote, any of the larger auto parts chains will usually match another chains published price, even on the internet.

exactly what im doing next oil change! all amsoil fluids, and i have a amsoil dealer about 4 blocks away from my house that will supply it.

Amsoil also came out with a new diesel oil that has better ratings and better wear protection then mobil's 5w40.

Same price in New Orleans on Airline Drive. Picked up all 8 they had, and will go back for more when they restock. Got 3 cars to do.

No special sale, normally stocked item.

liqui moly also has a diesel rated full synthetic, kinda pricey at 35.00/gallon, but it is supposed to be the BEST oil for diesel or any motor. it is a 5W40 if I recall...
LM is a great company that makes a fine purge product, but wow 35.00/gallon... I think I'll stick with 5.50/quart M1 5W40 at advance...
