Last 3 Weeks: Cruise ctrl, door locks, trunk lock & engine shut off all die.

Within the last three weeks, the door locks, trunk automatic lock, engine shut off and NOW the cruise control all stopped working. I posted a few topics about the doors and the engine shut off and am in the process of tracking down these vacuum leaks. And now, all of a sudden my cruise doesn't work.

When it first started going out the gas pedal would abruptly pop up and the car would start to slow down. Now the cruise won't even turn on.

Are all the problems related to one vacuum leak issue? It seems like my dependable '82 300D has just all of a sudden been turned upside down. Any ideas on what's going on here?

Also, as I said in my previous topics. I've noticed a hissing noise coming from behind the push button panel for the heater. It stops hissing when i turn on the heat or when i rotate the climate control know to cold.

Have you actually looked for the problem yet? Start at the pump under the hood and work out from there. Has the tranny shifting become firmer or anything? I would especially look at the pump and the main line between the pump and the brake booster. If you need help, I live in Canton. PM me and I can help you troubleshoot over the phone.

Yes its vacuum

But to get some functionality back, you can cap the green hose that runs through the firewall until you fix it.

If you need further help, this is it.

Look for the rubber tree with two yellow hoses--one pure yellow, the other, yellow black---,one brown hose and one green hose going through the firewall. Yellow feeds the front door, yellow black feeds the Vacuum Tank, the brown feeds shutoff and the green one feeds climate control.

PS I know the vacuum system is Wierd, but I have locked myself out of the car 4 or 5 times. So now I have a line that I have hidden on the outside of the car that I pump vacuum into to BREAK INTO MY CAR.

Interesting idea. Just make sure its caped off so nothing can get back into the system.
