1 million
i asked this a few days ago, after 1 mill MB gives you a new 1? SERIOUS???!!!
i can see in europe, anyone in US confirm this for sure, or you guys playing with me :santa3: |
Sure they give you a new one when you hit a million miles. A new badge for your grill that is.:D If you manage to take one to a million miles You should get a medal. You will be too physically run down from repairing it to consider driving again anyways. So the new car would be of no use to you at all if you think about it. There also would be no particular reason that mercedes would want one with a million miles on it either. Even I do not want one..Could you even imagine the required detail repair list required. Almost impossible to prove the milage if true as well. Now if you want one with a million miles I think they appear fairly often on ebay with lower indicated odometer readings. Mercedes is not even buying those up cheap for some reason. :)

word has it that some taxi in Greece reach 1 million miles ... but I don't know if he got a free benz .. story might have been impbelished...

That taxi had substantially more than a million miles I thought.

And I heard.....
......that MB purchased the Taxi back from the Greek Cabby. It supposedly had 1.4 million miles. I think it resides in a museum, possibly at the MB HQ.
Also that there is a Califunya family with one with something like 1.2 Mmillion miles...... .....I just had to know, copied the following from MBUSA Classic website.. "Mercedes-Benz first introduced the High Mileage Award in the 1960s to recognize the many Mercedes-Benz vehicles that routinely travel hundreds of thousands of miles — some even eclipsing the million-mile mark. The current Mercedes-Benz High Mileage champ is Gregorios Sachinidis, a Greek taxi driver who holds the known record of more than 2.8 million miles in his 1976 Mercedes-Benz 240D. The latest Mercedes-Benz to be recognized for surpassing the one-million-mile mark is a 1970 280SE acquired for the Mercedes-Benz Museum Collection from its original owners, George and Luzstella Koschel of Orange County, California. The Koschels bought the car new and drove it for 1,019,000 miles." .....jus the facts.... SB |
Volvo has that program. They will give you a new car once you reach 1 mill. The Greek taxi had around 3 mill I think? MB bought the car back and gave him a new C-class diesel.
I run a Mercedes publication and have access to MB's official media cite. |
How does one drive 2.8 million miles in Greece? That's gotta be one of the smallest countries around, unless you count all the islands. :D
