Aux. Coolant pump run time

I have a 240D and when I added my parking heater I had to add a aux coolant pump and I was wondering when and how long does the aux pump work on the ACC. I have never had a car with ACC and from what I understand it runs the pump at idle, but when else. Anyone tested this? or could test this for me?

I believe the pump runs constantly whenever the ACC calls for heat.

I plan to use a stock aux water pump on my air/water intercooler which will require it to run when ever the car is on. Will this be too hard on the pump?

I was going to use two, one on each side of the circuit (hot and cold).

ACC on a 240D?? That would be very rare. I have only seen that once (RLeo's 240D Euro).

What is a parking heater??

bgkast- I think the pump will have np running all the time, but I would have it come on with a set temp. from the intercooler like say +10C from outside temp.....why are you going to use a air/water and not an air/air?

Palangi- the parking heater is like small furnace used to heat up the car either the coolant (the type I have) or air for the inside of the car. There is a ost about it below.

Fuel fired coolant heater
