Come on down!!! lookin for a driver !!
"posted on OD too"
Does anyone (with a legal drivers liscense...) want to have some fun & drive a nice '73 280 sedan from New England area to SUNNY (did I say HOT Babes in skimpy bikinis !!!!) Florida!!!??? I am a couple of days away from buying a pretty nice road worthy '73 MB , and while it may be best to use a transport company to truck it to me in Florida, I am open to suggestions & options. I am having a mechanic give it a good once over Monday morning & if the suspension & undersides check out OK, I will have my 1st gasser in 2 years. Any takers or ideas?? Austin

Wow....if you drove that 280 from new england to florida the US will have to tap into the strategic petroleum reserve....j/k They do drink gas like no other though. The carb versions guzzle, the electronically injected versions just slurp. My friend's mom had a fuel injected 280te wagon from 1985...it got about 11-12 mpgs....till she killed it (poorly maintained, blew oil line on freeway, seized 3 miles later)
However, I'd still buy/drive one.
