Anyone know where to find a good diagram of turbo?
I know braingears used to have all sorts of pdf diagrams of my car's innards, but since that's down, I'm wondering if someone knows of another source where I can find a simple (well, simplish) diagram of the 603's set-up in terms of the turbo and turbo-related items (overboost protection solenoid, pressure switch, etc.). The only image I have of the turbo right now is a kind of stark cutaway in the EClass Owners Bible. Just curious how it all works. Was thinking of maintenance things I could do for fun and thought maybe cleaning out some of the lines would be a good idea, even though my car isn't really having a performance problem as far as I can tell. A little slow off the line sometimes, but it may just feel that way because all the drivers around me pound the pedal through the floorboard when the light turns green.

the only line that cleaning will have any involvement with performance is the ALDA boost line, it comes off the intake manifold and runs straight over to the switchover valve on the L fenderwell.
I don't have any links to a pictoral view of the turbo though Have you used a BB in the egr line or tried one of Brian's cover plates (for testing purposes!) ? Oh yes, clicking your signature line comes up with "The requested article was not found"

As for my EGR, somehow a pin got stuck in that line, disabling the EGR ... I don't know anything about it, though, if anyone asks ... Like I said, I'm not really worried ... I just want to see if cleaning the line makes any difference, since a lot of people have found that. As for my article, I'm afraid the newspaper Web site "archived" it so you can't access it anymore. Kept meaning to take that dead link out of there. Wish I could find another copy online, but I don't think it's posted anywhere anymore, and I don't work for that newspaper anymore. I'll see if I can find it anywhere. I was so proud of that silly piece.
