I just replaced my thermostat after experiencing similar heating conditions and, as Brian says (we all ought to send him a generous holiday gift,) the temp. hovers around 90F and I've got great heat which we need now in Wisconsin as it was -3F last night.

I don't mind sending him what ever he wants! That man is a great wealth of kowlage, my car defiantly has a stat in it, although it might be bad!

One more thing I noticed

1 there is 54f air coming from the rear console vent.

2 There is no air coming from the 4 vents in the EC posistion?

1. Normal operation. The rear vent only provides outside air.

2. Normal operation when the system calls for heat. The center vents only open when the system is trying to cool the vehicle down.

Regarding #2: I think heat only blows at the feet and the windshield vents.

Try the thermostat: order one from Phil here at Fastlane - around $23 with the gasket (which you should definitely get - it's not just an o-ring but a specially shaped rubber gasket.)
