86 300SDL for $3K

This will probably be gone quickly, despite the "issues."

I have no association with the seller.

damn would love a SDL to replace my SD but i just dont have the $$$ to work on it. My SD has thankfully been reliable enough while my 87 is out for a paint fix.

Seems as this would be a good buy for the price and work needed.

seems like a good solid car. I'm a little surprised he wouldn't at least have done the fluid/filter change on the trans, but I guess after it rolled off the ramps (always block the tires!) while he was under it who can blame the guy??

indeed. $3K BIN price is off the radar for the level of problems that car has. You have to go in assuming that a fluid and filter change will NOT fix the problem. If you can't DIY the problem yourself, you're looking at $2K in tranny work.

Humble - buys a project car and of the first things we do is give it a paint job and put a stereo system in it

You have to pay ME to take a car with red interior.

But if it were another color, $1000 tops, with no damage from running into the garage door. I would expect this must be a general practitioner and not a brain surgeon.
