I found a nice Midnight Blue '84 300CD Turbo locally that I struck a deal for. It's in nice shape overall but the driver's seat needs a new cover...if anyone has a line on a palomino MB-Tex interior for the W123 Coupe please let me know if a seat cover is available. I'll post some photos after I pick the car up. Overall it is 99% rust free...just a spot in the driver's door jamb at the very front of the rocker is all. It's got a sunroof and everything works on it. 224K miles but looks like a lot less. I should have it in my driveway next week.

Enjoy the ride. Upkeep on these things are a big deal. You're going to run into a few difficulties, keep an eye on this forum you will gain much insight. As to the seats, a local junk yard, hey, that's what they are, might turn up something, or recovering is always an option. I have an '84 with 115,000 miles, I love it. When I figure out how to add photos, I'll share.

BTW, I need a seat bottom cover myself for my 240D, and it has that rust colored interior, kind of a reddish brown. Below is a link for another seat cover auction. Does anybody know what that color is called? I'll try and link to a pic of the interior, but in pics it always looks way more red than it really is. Russian vin site called it "leather anthracite (137)", but it is MB-Tex of course.

Jimmy L. there is a local mechanic whi is selling a full interior for w123 rust colored.
$500 you can negotiate. seats carpets etc included.
I bought two doors from him.
he wants to get rid of it

for the 300CD owner, just buy good quality sheep skin seat covers.
My front seats are OK but it is far better now.
I used to have a 240D with a torn driver seat. The sheep skin cover hid it and felt good.

Thank you for the info. Actually, everything else is in really good shape except the drivers seat bottom, so it is more cost effective for me to just get a seat bottom cover. I may ask him about the passenger kick panel, though.....

Does anybody know which color I have from the choices on the linked auction? I may have somebody who can get this for me for Christmas, so would love to know which color.

Here it is...my "new" '84 300CD Turbo-D in Midnight Blue (904) over Palomino...one of my favorite all time color combinations.

Paint looks original to me as well...as you can see the driver's seat cover needs replacement, it is really the only bad spot inside. One spot of surface rust on the rocker that I will clean up in the coming days and it is good to go.

I even found the original window sticker in the manual pouch...a nice bonus!
