Tow from the back right?

Ok, I have an 86 560 SEL on the side of the road right now and I'm waiting on AAA.

Just to confirm, I need them to pick it from the rear and tow that way correct?

Thanks, that's what I thought.

I believe it became a parts car tonight. Would hate to screw up the tranny too!

I would ask for a flat bed tow truck if possible.

Getting advice from this forum while waiting for triple A on the side of the road, and getting the advice you were looking for *before* they get there...that makes me smile

no way, what happened?! if there's any parts you need to fix, or any way I can help, don't hesitate to ask.

It took 3 hours, but they sent a flatbed. So at least the transmission didn't die tonight.

John, you don't want to know...................

Looks like I got myself a parts car now. Hard to tell in he dark but looks like a massive oil leak somewhere. No indication of an oil pressure problem until the engine screamed and stopped running. Oil all over the engine. I think it's seized.

Thats horrible, I hate to think you went though all this trouble to get it and wind up with just a parts car i'm going to do some checking next week and see if I can't find a motor.

If it turns out you need something easy for it, I have a spare 560 engine for parts here still. Well two I guess if you count the other one still in the car in the driveway.

Thumbs up

If it's clean enough, put it back together. The only difference in the 5.0 vs 5.6 was the stroke... you could always toss in a Euro 500 motor. They're common here, hell I have two of them.
