Question Fuel injector, '83 SD leak somewhere

The FI closest to the firewall, [#5? ] is weeping fuel from seemingly just under the nut (it's tight) on the upper fitting. Wet from there down, short ending line soaked. Letting car cool down, will replace (end plug line, and check for nicks on nipples {no jokes please}) shortly after post. Had this car less than a month. I understand upside down heat shields can cause leaking from pre-chamber, seems to leak higher up on injector. Has anyone removed just one hard line from IP? Don't want check all this time of year. Thanks for any help.

What is the condition of the braided fuel return lines? They can weep, or they can drip. Also the end piece with the plug needs to be installed. It is on the injector closest to the firewall.

I have to replace mine as well. Line is weeping on the #1 injector and the #5. I ordered the kit from Diesel Giant.

Smile Think I got it.

I replaced the plugged end line, it was cracked in at least two places. This seems to have solved the leak, not only that, the idle no longer fluctuates, must of been sucking air. Just filled up 30 miles ago, was getting 24+ mpg, waiting to get "real" mileage. Will do the other lines tommorow.
