"Diesel: 107 Euro cent/liter
Octane 98 : 128 Euro cent/liter"

Thanks, that makes a big difference between US & Europe, ours is say about 10% higher, theirs about 15% lower than the premium, enough to make a reasonable savings for diesel drivers in Europe.

Thumbs up C-111

The 3 litre diesel in the C111 cars must be the 617, so it is possible to make big horsepower numbers with that engine.

Thumbs up Thank You Very Much.....

G'mornin',

I just want to say "Thank You" for the link to the article on MB & Bluetec!!

Did anyone look around/elsewhere in that website?? Go back one level to MB Classic......and scroll down the page.....there are lots of articles relating to Mercedes in earlier years and their significant breakthroughs......

I bookmarked that linked page.....looks like good rainy day reading to me.....

SB

Note: I did not read the entire article, YET...however, several folks have commented on the very early days of Diesel......somewhere in my personal Technical Library.....I have refrence to Rudolph's initial patent application...Rudy initially designed his prototype to run on Coal Dust....that's probably what he was thinking in regard to the high compression pressures....
