300D engine into the 240D body?
Hi,
I have good old 1976 w123 300D, and it's body went beyond repair. Recently I have found reasonably good 1977 w123 240D body with bad engine. Is it possible to fit 300D engine into the 240D body? What else needs to be changed beside the engine? Transmission? Suspension? Breakes? Something else? Thanks! |

Do a search. Yes, it's possible. Me, R Leo, Tom J, bgkast and a few others have done it. It's been discussed in detail in a few other threads.

starting with both cars is best so you are on the right track. radiator, engine, tranny may be same, rear end, driveshaft and speedo. some have switched to stick too which makes a very nice car.
good luck. tom w
