Heater/AC Blower Thoughts
 

The blower started to sound like a cricket, decided to pull it before a failure (W201).

Brushes worn, turned really hard.

Reminded me of my (T124) 4matic wagon, in which the speed control needed replacement at about 4 years old. If the bearings/oil become stiff, it will draw much more current, toasting switches and electronic speed controls (which I remember being pretty expensive on my 4matic).

I guess I'll be pulling the blower on my other M-B also, lubing the bearings, better than having it wear the bushes and speed control out prematurely from excess current draw.
