Does anybody no what the mercedes approved tran. oil is on this car. Thanks for any info.

My advice is to phone your dealer and speak to the parts department. Give them the chassis number of your car and they'll tell you what to order, and how much you need.

Do you mean '96 E300, by any chance? If so, you probably have the four-speed mechanical transmission and not the later five-speed electronically-controlled transmission.

If this is so, you need Dexron 2 or 3, and MB doesn't sell it. I've heard that Mobil 1 ATF works well for these, but have yet to try it in mine.

It looks like some 96 W210's came with the 722.6xx trans while others had 722.4xx's.

The 722.6 trans would require the MB Syn fluid.

Your vin/chas number will tell you which you have.
