BTW a few days ago the problem was solved. I simply added fluid and bleed. the front brakes. The front left was fine, but the right had air. I have driven several hundred miles and there seems to be no evidence of fluid loss or brake issues.

installing brake fluid reservoir w123
Help!
I have just replaced the grommets on the reservoir (the old rear one was toast leading to the brake fluid running down the outside of the booster) I installed the grommets first and now I can't seem to press the reservoir all the way home --- there is about a 4mm gap between the top of the rubber grommet and the base of the reservoir. Funny thing is that there is no fluid leak but the reservoir is rather wobbly. Anyone have ideas how to seat the sucker all the way home? |

I have replaced w/ little problem. I probably lubed the rubber first w/ the silicone fluid I use. You could use silicone spray, even if you use glycol fluid since no problem mixing them (unlike all the false rumors). If you spill any brake fluid, clean it up well or it will lift the paint (unless using silicone). Next time, better to start a new thread than add to a very old one.
