keeper??2000CLK AMG or 1999 E3000DT

Just got the E300DT,and have a 2000 430CLK AMG.Have had the CLK about a year now and no problems, always had diesels and like the mileage on E300DT(54k),CLK (88k).As far as reliability is concern, which one would you guys rather keep if you had choice.Like the looks and power of CLK,but love the clatter and fuel mileage of diesel.

E300 for sure. With a little (alot) Finnish tuning, it could keep up with the CLK.

I would definitely keep the E300. I would also keep the CLK. In fact, the next car I am looking to purchase is a CLK for a fun summer/weekend car.

Depends what you want. I like the new CLK but I'm not a fan of the old CLK's. Well unless its a CLK55 AMG, with that sweet V8 under the hood.

On the other hand the E300D has higher resale so it might not be a bad idea to sell it now.

What do you want to keep they are totaly different cars? Personaly after living with diesel sedans for the past couple of years I think a faster two door MB would be rather nice.

well the wife and I like the power of the Clk 430 AMG,and have had no problems at all with it,its black opal with grey interior 89k,the 1999 E 300DT is smoke silver with tan leather and 54k.Always have had diesels.got a 2001 cummins with every power upgrade available.Got ticked off when the E 300Dt started leaking at the hoses. So Am wondering which one I should keep.By the way even with chip and exhaust,I doubt the E 300DT could be faster thann the CLK430.Its a hard choice but dont need both cars,so one has to go.Only got a three car garage and bass boat is taking one spot,so something has to go.Want to keep the benz thats more reliable.

Well the M113 is probably a bit less to maintain then a 606 because of the glow plug issue. M113's just need spark plug changes every 4-5 years thats it.
I think they both use the 722.6 so thats about a wash.

The cars themselves are pretty similer.

Keep whatever one you like the best, maintiance is going to be a wash. You are probably better off selling the E300D but wait until fuel prices spike next year so you can get a few extra grand for it.
