94 W124-300D multi valve rough idle+
New Here so Hi and Happy Holidays
My problem is this I have been searching this and other forums (UK based) and I can't seem to nail this one down. I have just bought an early 1994 RH drive W124/131 - 300D with the OM606 straight 6/24 valve engine and am trying to find the ELECTRONIC IDLE SPEED CONTROL - Part# 0075459632. Compared to my other 1991 300D the idle is very low so I'm hoping to kill two (maybe 3) gremlins with one brick. Rough low Idle and dead tacho. Some forums report it as being behind the battery, there is only fresh air there. Does anyone know where it should be. The alternator was on it's way out so I replaced it, I thought that may cure the tacho but nope. I have read that the Idle speed control relay may have something to do with this. The reason for asking is that on cold or hot idle the sod shakes like a bas***d, when I toe it up a bit it's as sweet as a nut Also the engine runs on for about 2 seconds when I switch it off, hot and cold (thats the third gremlin) Any ideas anyone, I have a few days off work so this would be the ideal time to sort it. There's a pic in the gallery Happy New Year Adrian Last edited by iamamanc; 12-26-2006 at 08:46 AM. |
