Battery....I am changing the eight year old battery in mine tomorrow. A very good original battery, but do not press it.
I had the delivery valve seals on the injector pump go at 68,000 miles. The M-B tech told me that he has never seen them leak before 150,000 miles, but my E300 is another storey. It is not hard to determine if they begin to leak. As listed before there are many other potential leaks points that are not difficult to repair yourself. Sometimes you get display messages for things that are not really a problem. (I think that it might be software 'Gremlins') Not sure where you like, but if you deal with snow a second set of rims for snow tires is a very nice thing to have. How old is the coolant? The W210 E300 is a nice car, but I will take my 1985 300D over it any day. Enjoy your car. By the way, where are you located? |

Torque converter drain plugs disappeared in about September, 1999, so all the '99 models ought to have them.

Question
Are you speaking of the build date? Mine is a '99, but has an 11-98 build date. I would think it had it, but I did not see it after much bumping of the starter, maybe I was just not lucky.

722.6 dipstick measurement is attached (cm). The length of the tube is irrelevant so long as the stick reaches the bottom of the gearbox.
You could use a net curtain rail as a stick. |
