Tranny quit pulling

Tranny had been working fine. Stopped at a 4 way stop and when we started again the car shifted normal from 1-2 and sorta made a lunge from 2-3 and then it quit pulling. It is like it is in nuetral in any gear you put it in. Fluid is full and has no foul odor. 243K on the car.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a tranny expert, but I believe that the usual failure mode is a lot more drawn out. Sounds a little like a B2 piston failure, but you normally still have reverse in that scenario. Still, it may be as good a place as any to start looking. If you get lucky and it is a B2, it's a comparatively cheap fix.

Car acts like it wants to move if you rev it up in forward gear. It will not move in reverse.

Flex disks are basically couplings at either end of your drive shaft. One at tranny, one are rear end.
Doesn't sound like it would be them if it tries to pull a little bit in forward......

so are you saying it doesn't work at all now? What model/year is your car? You should put that in your signature so people have a rough idea of what problem to address.

If you have no reverse gear left either it could be b3 clutch plates or worse, if you have no gears left then it could be b3 pressure plate springs have blown out and did bad things (this happened to mine..no damage, but strange things occurred afterwards).

A lot of things can be done with the tranny still attached (b2 being one of them as tjohn said) but with the number of miles on your car you may be looking at a full rebuild.
