Fuel leak w/pictures
I have some fuel leaks on my 1995 E300 Dielsel.
There seems to be fule comming out of a small holeunder the bleed screw on top of the fuel filter. I have tightened it but it still is leaking. There is also fuel at the base of the hose where it seems to go into the botom of the injctor pump. Not sure if this is it's onle leak or if the fuel is coming from the 2 hoses on the back of the fuel filter housing in pic three. There also is a 3rd hose (no pic) coming off the fuel filter housing goinf toward the passenger side of the injector pump where fuel is leaking as well. From the looks of it, all the semi-clear hard plastic lines need to be replaced. 1. How do these lines com off? The brass clamp on them looks like PIA to remove. Any hints/tools ot make it easier? 2. I cannot fit my hand under the intake manifod to remove the lines at the injector pump. Does the fuel filter housing come off? It loooks like I can just remove the 2 bolts on the block side and it will come off (not sure). 3. How do I fix the bleed cap probem? Can the metal part that the bleed cap screws on to be replaced? Is there a rubber seal that can be replaced? Thanks for you help.

You'll probably have to take the intake off to replace all the lines.
Yours are pretty old judging by their color, new ones are almost clear...it's probably that they're all leaking. Sorry I can't help with the bleed screw, my '99 is self priming and just has a bolt for the filter there. Also the clamps on my lines are plastic, not brass.

Say it ain't so. Please. Anyone? I was hoping I could get away with removing the fuel filter housing (big metal piece that the filter and hoses screw on to). It look slike there would be anough access at that point to reach all the lines.
BTW, I have been seaching for info on shop mauals (I have the old book version (grey/blue) for my 16V. Any idea where to get them and how much $$$ they are for the 124? Thanks

If you remove the windscreen washer bottle (easy job) you should have more than enough room to reach the lines.

I just replaced one of the lines( #65) and it cost me $9. and change. FWIW, it is fairly easy to remove the intake, well it will be easy the second time.LOL

Your kill switch (on top of the fuel filter housing) has some orings on it that are allowing fuel to leak out. You can replace them or the entire unit. Orings are cheaper.
Someone esle just did this on a 95 last week.
