I always like how he paints the lug nuts as well as the valve stems too.
The Bumpers should be body color, headlight doors are both brand new, possible front end wreck when you factor in the hood not lining up?

Maaco Paint. Look at the paint all over the black door mouldings!!

Alright! Stick on wood! (non disclosed)

Damn you're good! I didn't notice any of that stuff (didn't look hard), but the 300TD emblem on the decklid looks off so I figured it got hit in the rear.

Possibly, but he hopefully removed them to paint the car, and the flunkies at Maaco or Earl Schieb put it back on crooked. If you notice the turbo badge is crooked too. Odd, since he didnt remove the door moudlings.

That VIN is for a different car - a '95 BMW. Judging from the style of the auction, I'd guess that it was being handled by the same outfit - see this eBay auction (he's pasted the Carfax report into the auction).

If one has a Carfax account (at least the regular ones I've had a couple of times), they'll provide a link that can be used to access a report. The report that's available this way doesn't have to stay the same; one can run a different VIN later, then select that report to be the one that is available through the link. The link remains the same.

Looking at this earlier auction, one can find the VIN of (I think) the car in question.

As seen in that auction description, Carfax is pretty thin on information for this one. The only entry that isn't pasted in there is one is dated 3/23/2006 - sold at auction in Florida at 238,501 miles.

I wonder what this guys reserve is set at, like $12,000? With 240,000 miles???? I mean, I already know that apparently if you buy your diesel Mercedes off of E-Bay, it comes with all that E-Bay magic, which will net you like 40 MPG city and 50 hwy, and it will last a million miles, so I guess that must be the deal of the freakin century, especially since it's not even through 1/4 of it's mileage. I just want to see that car in a few years when the maaco paint starts to bubble, and the seats crack from all the armor all.

Note that his Carfax says "Found 4 Records", but only 3 records are shown. I imagine he removed the line about "sold at auction". Manipulating a Carfax is not cool.
