Yes, everything went back in perfectly & seated properly. I have no choice but to continue with everything else & see what happens. It must work itself out. These springs came out of a car with an engine that weighs at least 80-100 lbs less. Furthermore I can't believe that springs sitting for about two years with no weight on them could get stronger.
Wanted to post some pictures but it got too late. Will try tomorrow, Paul.

I've got a similar deal with my 300sd. I had the wieght of the front wheels for about a week while I did some front end work. When I set it back down the front was way high. It has settled a little since then, but still way high. I have as much ground clearance as some trucks!

Although you might think it's "way high", I'll bet that it's within 1/2" of spec.

All the SD's and SDL's suffer from this look.

I don't like it much, myself. I fixed the look on the SDL by raising the back end........the front end drops a bit and the look over the tires is about equal........still too much.......IMHO.

The SD is going to get a spring length reduction to reduce the front end by 1" or so.

Can you buy thinner spring shims for the front end?

I believe that we're currently running the thinnest available, but, won't know for sure until the spring is removed.

Would the front springs from a 190 work? I know they are smaller cars but what about the front springs? Just wondering because my SD still sits "high" after doing the front end rebuild. (same springs but new everything else)
