Hood Pad Adhesive
Howdy Folks:
Glad New Year to all : About to replace a hood pad on W123 - 85 3ooD turbo I see from search there have been a few options First i ask about the adhesive - they i will ask about where people got there's mostly I am interested in the hood pads with the aluminium flashing round the turbo inlet Cheers thanks ya Glad New Year again |
I buy the 3M heavy duty glue. Comes in a spray can, last digits 090. I get it at AutoZoo. Put the hood straight up and cover everything with a big plastic sheet. Scrape the old stuff off with plastic putty knife (three pak at walmart).
test fit the new pad to be sure how it is going to fit. I like to spray one half (left or right) on the ground and spray matching part of hood. Let sit a few minutes and then carefully position. Press down whole side with hands. Spray other half of pad and hood and slowly roll on the second half. Amazing how good a new hood pad looks. I use the factory hood pads. They seem better to me. YMMV. BobK And that reminds me, gotta replace one on daughters car. Rats. |
