the deviL made me do it! no Vacuum!
I read alot before I jumped in to this mystery of finding /controlling vacuum leaks in our w126's. I have a 87 300 SDL. Tranny shifting hard both upshift and down shift esp in 2-3. Gets smoother with more pedal on the metal. Now,being that it's my first time using a mityvac, I "T"d it from the blue saucer where the tranny modulator is attahed to..NO VACUUM!...as in ZERO on idle. So,I connected it to the brake booster and got 25 hg of vacuum there. So while I'm there I attached the mityvac directly to the tranny modulator and pulled 7 hg of vacuum and drove it.. IT DROVE PERFECTLY!! NO HARD SHIFT, NO FLARE, BOTH UPSHIFT AND DOWN SHIFT . so what now? Atleast I know that the transmission is working perfectly. All I need is to get the blue saucer to pull vacuum...how do I do that?
thanks for the help
