You can still buy the rear seat nets for your W126!!

126-810-02-49-9051 thats the part number for the black one. I am sick of sagging crapy looking rear seat nets, the shock cord is shot after 20 years. Also I can't find a real thin replacement, that would look OE. I ordered one, it will be in on Friday and I will see how it looks. If it works and looks good I'll replace the other. I paid $95, I think list is $110ish.

Whatever long as it looks good, I used a gift card so I didn't pay for it! I think it includes the netting and all the plastic around it.

And about 30 minutes worth of time per side.

And here I just tied a knot in the slack and tucked it into the outter corners... Put a map or a piece of flat car litter over it, and you'd barely know that it was 'repaired.'

I like this kid more every day!
I also fixed my two wagons this way, and it took 2 minutes. Of course, nothing EVER goes into the netting......
I'd like to see the new assembly when it arrives.

Nothing that isn't flat!

I still contend that a net is better than a leather pocket. Have you ever ridden in a car that someone used the seat pocket as a cupholder/ashtray in?!?! Even if a net is saggy and stretched out-of-shape, it can't hold any french fries, unwanted chicken nuggets or the best of *all* car disasters...

It is not liquidtight.

Leather upholstery+ map pockets+ children = some disgusting detailing jobs!

Don't ask how I know, just know that a hosepipe and around 40 gallons of mr clean solution were needed to marginally improve the smell.

They gave us $500 trade-in.

I can't use leather because the SDL has cloth. I would put the later model leather pockets on if I could. I had a $100 amex gift card and figured I'd blow it on something for the old girl since she was really good to me last year. I'll post a pic when I pick it up Friday.

SDL is a keeper so I don't mind spending money on it, its a hobby. Somehow when someone looks at it and says "wow this car is how old?!!" its all worth it.

For $150 I got two complete late model 124 seats with flat pockets on the backs to upgrade mine (I don't like the sagging mesh things)
Plus I had a worn bolster on the drivers seat and now its like new.

I have an older design on my 300D, not exactly sure on how to go about that one, since it's different than the examples posted here. And, I'm missing my driver's side net completely!

Joe, yours is an 82. They still had the chrome net surrounds and the thicker seats. The late 82 models (considered 83) already had the nets.

I think yours has holes at the ends of the chrome and you can loop the bungee cord in there. There is a screw at the bottom, same way you remove the later model 123 nets.
