sold my SD to a scammer! buyers beware!
 

Well i finally decided to sell off the 300SD. Had no use for the car and well gotten tired of it. Thinking of a gasser S320......;) But besides that.

I put the car up for $1k and said that it had a partially installed veggie kit. That sent off a crap load of emails. The guy i sold it to wanted it so bad that he was at my house waiting for me to get back from work to show him the car.

He drove it around, liked it and bought it on the spot in cash. Well turns out, he said he sends these cars off to earl scheib. He has the hook up with the owner to give him a $80 paint job because he brings in alot of these diesels. Then he installs homemade mickey moused veggie kits in it and triples or doubles what he paid for it.

So my car is back up on craigslist for $2750. I sold it to him for $1k.

And read the bull**** he came up with.

interior is a little rough,back seats have some wear front ones have rips but i have sheep skins over them.
going to need a new speedometer cable. apparently when the PO had the transmission rebuilt they didnt bother to put the speedometer cable in

The engine is NOT I REPEAT NOT REBUILT! i never told him it was.
he also claimed the transmission was rebuilt ontop of that.

He completley missed the rust hole in the rear trunk area, and that there is alot of other stuff that needs fixing. and its a laundry list of crap, that was part of the reason for selling the car.

He cruises around the benzworld forum. So he is roaming around, but little do you know this guy is a con artist.

I think something should be done about this. Im pissed off that the car has been sold to this jerk and kick myself for doing it.
The guy was a moron from the begining. When he came to the house he was in a 85 300D. He pretends to be interested in these cars, he told me that his 85 was a special import straight from germany.
but from the looks of it, it was a normal US spec car. I asked him if it was a california model and he told me no its a rare german import. Later on he tells me he got a deal on it because it had a clogged catalyst converter. Well this obviously was a cali model:rolleyes: what a moron.

To rant on more, he also bashed my 87:mad: He was telling me it was unreliable due to the aluminum camshaft:rolleyes:

They only log one flag per person per post. They keep track of it via your ip address so one person cannot take down a post.

Missed one part of my rant. The guy had the smell of alcohol in his breath. My co-worker came with me, my co-worker claims that he saw a flask in the side pocket of the door when he was leaving.

He didnt tell me his username. He just told me he had been a member on the benzworld forum. He owns a greenish blueish 85 300D.

I don't know that he is a scammer, just a dishonest, lying, slime ball, sleazy scum-sucking entrepreneur...... ;)

Sorry Rueben, sounds like the guy was a jerk. Really there wasn't much you could do, but it must have been a bit sour seeing it back up on craigslist with that bs list. I hope someone doesn't get ripped by the guy.

I saw this car for sale the other day for $1000 and recognized it from this forum. Sorry it fell into the wrong hands...
