used parts

Are used parts from the local wrecking yard worth it? which ones would you avoid?
I am looking for a blower motor, and the switchover valves for my 300sd.

Thanks
Doug

It depends on a number of factors: The ease of removing and replacing the part. The cost of the junkyard part versus the new or rebuilt part. The proximity of the junkyard. The importance of the part in the operation of the car. Whether or not the part typically wears out over time. Availability of a new part.

I'd use a switchover valve. I may use a blower motor but I'm not sure how difficult it is to replace it.

Blower motors are pretty easy to swap out in a 123.

Much easier than dis-assembling them and replacing brushes.

Hi. I have a Blower Motor out of a '85 380SE, which uses the same blower as all 126 chassis, so its the same thing. Pulled it to go into my '86 560SEL, turned out it needs the ACC Controls . Anyway, my loss is your gain. I'll be more than happy to sell you the Blower. Also have a blower regulator if you need it. I'll pm you with a price, and contact info.
Thanks, and God Bless,
Dave.
