82 300D Turbo
I have an engine and transmisson out of an 82 300D that Im planning on putting into a Jeep Cherokee, when the junk yard took the engine out they did a realy realy bad job, they knocked a hole in the valve cover, they bent the heck out of the bracket/valve asembly on top of the valve cover and they dented the tin oil pan very badly, Ive been able to locate the oil pan new but the other parts I cant seem to find I dont konw exactly what the valve and bracket are called on top of the valve cover but I need one all the link rods are ok but the bracket and the valves are bend and broke beond repair, I patched the hole in the valve cover but would prefer to have one that doesnt have a patched spot in it so if anyone has any of these parts I would greatly apreciate it

The valves are all for emissions control. You probably won't need to re install them. The rods control the injection pump. Sort of a diesel throttle.

The valves atop the valve cover are mostly for emissions controls. If you don't plan to keep EGR functional, I wouldn't worry about it. The only linkage I'd be concerned with is for the bowden cable to the transmission. If that's messed up, check with Jim Harris (jim16671836) in the parts forum. He has access to lots of these engines and should be able to get you what you need.
