617 Flywheel Part Number Search
Does anyone have an EPC help verify a part number? I have a source on a 300D manual flywheel that has a part number 617 032 00 01 but that is different than what I have been told before.
Has my 8 month search come to an end? |

Couple of years ago, I was on a German Mercedes site on which you could type in a part number and get information. I think it was 'Classic Mercedes' or something like that. I might work.

I haven't been able to find a part search engine. I presume somoene with the Euro EPC could find this.

Any info on the flywheel or where to get one would be appreciated. Im just putting together the engine for my 300d/4 speed, and would like to use the heavier one , rather than the 240's.

Here's the site. Click on parts query and enter the part number. Most of the site is in German.

617 030 00 05 is the number I have been searching for before but to no avail.
615 030 12 05 is from a OM615-616 fitment I presume. So how does a 617 032 00 01 fit into the picture? Kerry Edwards, the German classic center does find the part as A6170300005 at 435.43 Euros in Germany only. |

You should call the classic center, they are pretty friendly and might get you a response.

Zack, I was planning to do that tomorrow. I will have to see what they have to say. There is an email form which I can use but I don't have a euro chassis number to reference. I wonder if I can just fudge it.

What is wrong with using a 240 flywheel that is match balanced with the 300d flex plate?

Curtis, my reply on BW was the same as somebody posted. See the link on the Russian EPC.

Tom, I am going to go and inspect the flywheel tomorrow morning that I was quoted so that I can see what the part number really is. It's hopeful but we'll have to wait and see. |

Now that my IP timing is set right, my engine idles fine down to 500rpm. The 240D fw should not be a problem.

Was there a problem with the IP timing or did you adjust it to compensate for the lighter flywheel?
