Just surfing around on my new mercedes maint CD rom and noticed their is a section on adding oil to the vac pump. Has anyone ever done this? Is it very difficult? I would assume at some point they made the pump oil itself as I have never heard any mention of this for my 85 300D. This car is a 74 240.

The vacuum pump on the 617 engine ('85 300D) is lubricated by crankcase oil.
