OK...how do you get the seat out (W123)

I'm trying to remove my driver’s seat to replace it with a better one. I have removed the two 10 mm bolts in the front and the two Phillips screws in the back but there seem to be two more screws in the center that hold the seat track to the seat support. These screws are not accessible with the seat in, so what am I missing?

As I rememebr from long ago you need to raise the seat bottom full height and then pull the seat as far forward as it will go to get one set and then the reverse to get the others.

I just did it. move the seat all the way forward.
get in the back seat behind the seat being removed.
put your foot on the back of bench.
reach forward and pull up on lever on the side of seat.
push forward with your foot.
there they are

yeah, its held in by 4 10 mm bolts, 2 in front you got and 2 in back at the floor. also undo the 10mm one at the driveshaft tunnel in the rear for seatbelt buckle attachment

I didn't have to do that one. after the 4 track bolts are off, just pick seat up slightly and move all the way forward. buckle will stay on seat and slide off the bar with no problem.

I agree, did mine exactly the same way, once loose I rolled the seat back and on its side, then pulled it out the rear door, headrest first. As far as the phillips screws underneath the seat, those are for removing the tracks and brackets from the seat bun once the seat is out, they won't detach the floor mounts, they are all accessible once the seat is out, by moving the rails to match round holes over the screws as you remove them.

FYI the bottom seat bun on the 123's are interchangeable between left and right seats. But not the seat backs.

THAT is the perfect explanation/instructions.......

You can get seat out without removing the piece attached to the hump, as I usually forget about it in my haste. However, it has to be removed when you put the seat back or you create a hassle trying to get it back through seatbelt reciever assy.

After removing the four track bolts, tilt the seat back and disconnect the wiring for the seat belt buzzer. Then it will be easier to remove the seat from the car.
